Aston Martin Vantage Roadster VS Porsche 911 Cabriolet

The first thing that should be said is that there are a lot of variants of the 911 Cabriolet, eight of them for the 2026 model. And while not exactly irrelevant, the bulk of these versions don’t come anywhere close to matching the performance of the Vantage. The 911 Turbo S Cabriolet offers very similar horsepower to the Vantage Roadster, but that’s not the whole performance story. The 911 has a rear-engine layout, one that places more weight in the rear than the front, roughly a 40/60 split. That means that a good deal of the engineering that goes into the handling of the 911 is dedicated to combating the car’s own design, as rear-engine cars are notoriously prone to oversteer. Not an issue for the 50/50 weight distribution you enjoy in the Vanquish.

Now is where those other versions of the 911 come in. Because quite a few lower-priced versions of the 911 exist, the 911 isn’t exactly what you would call particularly exclusive. And that’s not the only thing that’s keeping any given 911 from standing out from the crowd. Porsche does a decent job of offering customization options for a mainstream brand, but the 17 paint color options for the 911 don’t look nearly as impressive when compared to a more boutique brand with an eye to creating a more bespoke vehicle for its customers. As such, the Vantage Roadster is available in 72 paint colors. And that’s just the standard colors; the Q by Aston Martin program offers fully bespoke colors, materials, finishes, and painted graphics for a truly unique vehicle. Porsche does offer a paint-to-sample program, but the customization options from a mass-produced model will never be as extensive as the tailored experience of commissioning an Aston Martin vehicle.

Winner - Aston Martin Vantage Roadster

The Porsche 911 Cabriolet is a good convertible sports car, but it doesn’t provide the same feel as an Aston Martin Vantage Roadster, whether you’re talking about handling, build refinement, or the satisfaction of using something tailored just to you. The Vantage Roadster is in a league of its own, as evidenced by its closest competitor not quite measuring up across several categories. Cleveland Motorsports can help you experience this for yourself.
