Bentley Continental GT vs. GTC vs. Mulliner

There are a few different models in the Bentley lineup with the name Continental, and thus, a few different ways to experience this pinnacle of grand touring. The Continental GT, Continental GTC, and Continental GT/GTC Mulliner each have their advantages, and it’s best to know what those are before making a selection. Read on to see which one is the best fit for you.

The Continental GT was the first new model to debut under the brand’s current ownership; it’s just that important a car. The GT in the name stands for Grand Touring, and that is the concept that the Continental GT embodies better than any other car ever has. The Continental GT is built for performance, but also to be comfortable and practical as a road trip vehicle. It comes in a number of varieties, including the performance-themed S, the serene Azure, and the highest-performance version known as the Speed. Power comes from a 4.0-liter V8 mated to a plug-in hybrid drivetrain. This produces 671 horsepower in most variants, or 771 in the Speed and Mulliner (more on that in a bit). The GT is a hardtop, which is often preferred by performance enthusiasts for its lighter weight and higher structural rigidity.

The C in GTC stands for Convertible, and the Continental GTC is just what you would expect it to be, an open-top version of the Continental GT. It comes in all the same variants, along with the same drivetrains, just with a roof you can lower. For some, no road trip is complete without the wind in your hair, and the Bentley lineup would be incomplete without an option that gives you exactly that.

Bentley Continental GT/GTC Mulliner

Technically speaking, the Mulliner isn’t a separate model, but rather a variant of either the GT or GTC. But we’re treating it as a separate entity because the whole point of the Mulliner is to give you access to a huge range of customization options, making each Mulliner a unique creation. Even though every example is different, there is a Mulliner-specific grille that makes spotting one of these special models easy. The Mulliner is powered by the same 771-horsepower drivetrain as the Speed, but lets you tone down the performance-oriented looks, should you prefer.
