2026 Bentley Bentayga Speed vs. Range Rover SV Comparison with Price, Specs, & Photos

With the SV trim of the Range Rover, Land Rover makes a bid for the ultraluxury market. It comes with a more powerful engine, unique visual cues, and a much longer list of customization options than the more mainstream versions of the Rover. But Bentley also makes an SUV, and the Bentayga Speed takes it into the world of high performance. Are the changes to the Range Rover SV enough to make it a serious Bentayga Speed competitor? Let’s take a closer look.

Since both of these vehicles have a performance focus, it’s impossible to discuss them without addressing the subject. Power figures alone don’t quite tell the whole story, but are still worth mentioning. The Bentayga Speed produces 641 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque, while the Range Rover SV produces 607 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. You can tell that the Bentayga Speed is going to be quicker, but the actual extent of the difference is still surprising. The Range Rover SV goes from 0 to 60 in 4.3 seconds and on to a top speed of 162 mph. That’s impressive, but it falls well short of the 3.4-second 0-60 time and 193 mph top speed of the Bentayga Speed. It’s obvious which of the two brands has a rich motorsports legacy and which one doesn’t.

The Range Rover SV certainly offers better customization options than the rest of the Land Rover lineup, but again, it doesn’t really compare to what is available from Bentley. It’s true that both brands offer fully bespoke options that allow you to get things like the exact shade of paint you’re looking for, but Bentley’s curated option list is so much more extensive that there’s a far better chance that the paint or upholstery color you’re looking for is already ready to go. This is especially true when it comes to things like interior trim veneers or the color of the stitching on the interior leather, where the Range Rover SV option list is noticeably unimpressive. This really gets to the heart of the difference between these two vehicles. The Range Rover SV really is just a mainstream luxury SUV with an expanded options list, an elevated trim level, rather than a true ultraluxury model. Only a trained eye can spot the difference between the Range Rover SV and the base model, which is simply not an issue for any Bentley vehicle. Land Rover just isn’t a company that’s structured to offer the same kind of tailored experience that you get from Bentley.
