Not every ultraluxury vehicle has to be a sedan. Bentley recognized this and became an early adopter of modern ultraluxury SUVs. The Bentayga is everything you expect out of a Bentley vehicle, but better equipped to handle hazardous road conditions, or even conditions that are off the road entirely. The combination of air suspension and Bentley Dynamic Ride keeps the ride smooth and flat, even during hard cornering. The cabin is comfortable in ways that other manufacturers haven’t even thought of, such as Seat Auto Climate, which employs climate control systems inside the individual seats to maintain a comfortable humidity level and seating surface temperature. Bentley has a rich motorsports heritage, and impressive performance is an important part of what makes the brand what it is. So while the ride of the Bentayga is smooth, and the handling is refined, you always have the option to summon incredible power by putting the pedal down. There are three drivetrains offered with the Bentayga, the first being a plug-in hybrid that includes a 3.0-liter V6. This produces 456 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque, enough for a 5.1-second 0-60 time. If you’re looking to get where you’re going a bit quicker, there is a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that produces 542 horsepower and 568 lb-ft of torque, which delivers a 4.4-second 0-60 time. If you’re performance-minded enough to want the Bentayga Speed, it comes with a higher-output version of the V8 that produces 641 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque. The Speed dashes to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds, an absolutely incredible feat for a vehicle of this size.
Cutting-Edge Comfort
Bentley achieves such a high level of luxury by blending traditional English luxury sensibilities with the latest technology. The Bentayga comes with a wide range of leather and stitching options, and interior trim is available in lacquered or open-pore wood, as well as carbon fiber or brushed aluminum. All of these traditional touches then get enhanced through advanced technology like Bentley Diamond Illumination, which shines a series of LEDs through perforations in the upholstery, bathing the interior in soft ambient light. The climate control system employs filters and ionisers to ensure that the air in the cabin is as clean as it is comfortable.
