About The Bentley Flying Spur

The Flying Spur is Bentley’s sedan model, offering exciting driving dynamics for the driver or a well-appointed back seat for anyone who is being driven. It is named after a sailing ship built in 1860, which carried tea from China and Japan to London. The name is apt, as the ship was roomy enough to carry a full crew with cargo, but was also one of the fastest merchant vessels of its day. With up to 771 horsepower on tap, a spacious truck, and a comfortable ultraluxury interior, Bentley clearly borrowed more than just a name for this Flying Spur. This kind of heritage and attention to detail is what draws people to Bentley in the first place, and the Flying Spur is a perfect example of this idea.

What The Critics Say

“This grand-touring four-door marries the legendary high-end experience of Bentley sedans with a powerful plug-in hybrid powertrain and impeccable road manners. The cabin is decked out with the most premium materials, with the heady scent of cowhide and open-pore wood trim filling the otherwise purified air.” - Car & Driver

“Every moment behind the wheel of the new Bentley Flying Spur Speed is an indulgent thrill. It combines supercar performance and luxury sedan sophistication, blending the best of both into one extraordinary machine. The amount of power delivered to the wheels is phenomenal, and it feels like it never ends. Press the throttle, and you feel the torque pushing your back against the seat as you listen to the engine’s loud roar.” - MotorTrend

Exhilarating Performance

The Flying Spur is a sedan, but there is a lot of grand tourer DNA in the mix, and this starts with the incredible plug-in hybrid drivetrain. This comes in two different forms. The first is the standard version, which makes 671 horsepower and 686 lb-ft of torque. That’s enough to give the Flying Spur a 0-60 time of 3.8 seconds. And for those who want more power, the Speed and Mulliner variants come with a version of the drivetrain tuned to produce 771 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque, with a resulting 3.3-second 0-60 time. That’s supercar performance in a large and comfortable sedan. All-wheel drive comes with both versions, as does an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission. The plug-in hybrid drivetrain can even give you up to 47 miles of all-electric driving, for those times when you want an exceptionally quiet ride.

Luxury Experience

For as much as Bentley leans into the brand’s motorsports heritage, the luxury aspect of the vehicles remains the first priority. Key to this is the high-quality materials used throughout the cabin. The leather upholstery in the Flying Spur comes from herds that graze above sea level in Northern Europe. Only hides that are free of insect bites and other blemishes are used. Veneers use hand-selected wood or things like engine-turned aluminum for a heritage-inspired look and feel. In-car entertainment is second to none as well, and includes the available Rear Entertainment dual touchscreens for the back seat. Audiophiles will be happy to learn they have a choice of two optional stereo systems tailor-made for the Flying Spur: a Bang & Olufsen 1,500-watt system with 16 speakers, or a Naim 2,200-watt system with 19 speakers.

Endless Customization

With a car that is this enjoyable to drive, you want to be able to dial in every detail to meet your exact tastes. That’s why Bentley offers a huge range of paints, veneers, upholstery colors, and stitching options. This includes a number of curated options from Mulliner, Bentley’s in-house coachbuilder. These options are spread across all categories of customizable features, but if you can’t find the option that’s exactly right, there are other options. Mulliner can take on much more in-depth customization projects as well, including painted wheels, deep pile floor mats, and custom embroidery. Stone veneers are available, as are wood veneers with inlays or parquetry. It would be impossible to list everything Mulliner Bespoke can do for your Flying Spur, as the goal is to make a truly unique car. Even custom bodywork is on the table.
